5 Essential Parts of a Committed, Long-term, Primary Relationship

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Dr. Jackie Black What do you mean when you refer to a relationship? Do you know the differences between a dating relationship, a pre-committed relationship and a committed relationship? The difference has to do with the nature and structure of the relationship. The nature and structure of a committed relationship is related to the agreements and commitments each partner makes to the relationshipnot to each otherto the relationship! Agreements and commitments are actually behaviors driven by values that serve to support the structure. I believe there are 5 essential parts of the structure of a committed, long-term, primary, monogamous love relationship. To tell my personal truth To act with good will and good intention To honor and respect my partners feelings as if they were my own To be responsible to co-create the relationship that matches my vision, values and life purpose To live my passion and bring my authentic self to you and to us What agreements and commitments provide the structure for your primary love relationship? Are you and your partner both clear about what you have agreed and committed to? That is the next piece: All the agreements and commitments must be bi-lateral; that means that you and your Honey must both make those agreements and commitments in the presence of each other so that you know she did and she knows that you did. And here is the last piece: All agreements and commitments must be honored no matter what. It is a breech of trust when you dont keep your agreements and commitments. Be sure you are able to honor them before you agree and commit. Only You can make it happen! Fitness Plus Goal Setting Equals Success

Friday, February 29th, 2008

By Arina Nikitina Fitness and goal setting are very closely linked together, as the first one requires persistence as well as mental and physical effort. More and more people nowadays are striving to have an attractive toned body, lose extra weight, and maintain healthy lifestyle. Fitness has become one of the most popular and desired goals. Unfortunately, without strong goal setting program it can be hard to stay away from multiple seductions like inviting bakeries, various restaurants, and multiple fast foods. That’s why if you are trying to lose weight you have to set a realistic, clear and detailed goal that would be limited in time. For example your goal may sound like “I want to lose 20 pounds by March 30. After you have decided on a goal, there are two things that you will need to accomplish your goal: crystal clear plan and motivation. By crystal clear plan I mean complete set of steps that you need to take in order to achieve your goal. To create a plan you have to start with general objectives, like incorporating regular exercise and healthy diet into your lifestyle. Then you have to break those objectives into smaller and more detailed mini-goals. For example, it can be exercising at the gym for 2 hours 3 times a week, substituting sweets for fruits at dinner time, or cutting down on between meal snacks. Make sure that your goal is realistic. If you expect to lose 20 pounds in two weeks or decide to never eat sweets again, you will not only hurt your body, but set yourself up for failure and disappointment. Remember, fitness takes time, persistence, and patience! Motivation and positive attitude are also crucial for your goal. There are a couple of tricks you can try to boost your motivation. Find a picture of a perfect body that you would like to have. Post it on your fridge, on your bathroom mirror or any other place, where you can see it often. Imagine yourself having a body like this by the end of certain period of time. This will help you to get motivated and give you a more clear idea of what you want to achieve. Next thing you can do is to measure the progress and reward yourself for every little objective accomplished. Create some sort of a journal so you would be able to track down the amount of lost weight or the increase of the number of crunches completed in one set. By keeping yourself motivated, you will not only achieve your goal, but also boost your self-esteem and improve your overall health. Are We to Forget about God?

Thursday, February 28th, 2008

By Anthony Smith Are we to forget about God? There are many that keep forgetting about when they have called upon God in disasters, when a loved one dies, when a nation is at peril. Many forget about the times when a baby is about to die and they called out to God to allow the child to live and it lived. Many are tied up so much with this worlds affairs, that when God is mentioned they want to argue about freedom of religion, freedom of speech and freedom of religion. But all in all they forgot whom allowed them to have such privileges. Many forget that Israel and God go way back and we, as gentiles, are tied directly to Israel. There is a movement starting that Christian Theologists are wanting Church members to demand the world to concentrate on the environment, which is fine, but it should not, I repeat, should not be the Churches first priority. The first priority for the Ministers of the Church and also the members of the Church, is to seek out the lost for Christ. There is a movement among many Church leaders that want peaceful co-existence between all religions, making one world religion to cause peace to exist. There is a movement that desires all children to study a false doctrine, evolution. Where is the Church that Christ established, where is the Church that wasn’t afraid to speak the oracles and commandments of God, where is the Church that announces that the only way to salvation is through Jesus Christ, where is the Church of Strength and purpose? Where is their cry for the lost when they speak of the environment? Where is their cry for the dieing when they speak of building bigger and better church buildings? Are we to forget God and His Sons sacrifice so easily? Where is their cry, when one religion demands that all are subject to their will and if any refuse, they are to be executed? Is this really going on? The answer is yes. All you have to do is look at Somalia, at Iraq, Iran, Syria, And don’t forget to look at the Palestinians against Israel. Are we to forget God? Exo 23:7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.I will not justify the wicked. Those that forget about God will He not justify, but will destroy. Jer 23:32 Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.Are we to denie God and His word, are there not false gods and prophets, are we to forget about these hypocrites that say they are from God and neither recognize nor honor Him? Jer 14:14 Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.Man may control the body but Never control the soul. Zec 10:2 For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. These false doctrines have many followers. Are they just puppets for their leaders, making them kingdoms upon this earth, are they committing murder in the name of God, are they being deceived by Satan and by man? The answer again is yes. God is not unrighteous, He is not the author of murder, lies, deception nor sin, for man has it in himself to commit such things. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts. Are we to forget about God and His prophecy’s? Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. These false doctrines desire us to be brought back into bondage, as were the Children of Israel under Pharaoh. 2Ti 3:1-7; This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. This is the legacy of these false gods, prophets and diviners; covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, corrupted minds, reprobate, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Are we then to join with them and forget about God? Are we to make a pact with the Devil? What happened to; I am set for the defense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.? Shout to the Lord, all ye Earth, Let us Sing! Power and Majesty and Praise to the King. 1Jo 4:2-3 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God Are we then to forget about God? Have you forgetten about Him also? Ars. Temple of Spirit & Truth Ministries A. R. Beta Israel

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

By Mia Pleasant At 500,000, they outnumbered the Christians and Muslims around them, calling themselves Beta Israel. Though they lived in Ethiopia, their hearts were in Israel. Their daily rituals included praying and reading from the Torah. The Jewish community was not made aware of the existence of Ethiopian Jews until recently. For centuries, Ethiopian Jews were recognized by the people around them, their African neighbors calling them Falashas meaning the alien ones; the invaders. In the 4th Century, the Axum dynasty spread Christianity throughout Ethiopia. This remained Ethiopias main religion until the 7th Century, when Islam became the more dominant religion. This also separated Ethiopia from the other Christian nations of Africa. Ethiopian Jews, or Beta Israel, had a certain independence until the 13th century under the Solomonic Empire. There would be fighting for the next centuries between Beta Israel and other tribes. Beta Israels last battle was fought in 1624 against Portuguese-backed Ethiopians. They were defending their freedom. The Ethiopian Jewish men and women fought to the death. It is said they would have rather died then been taken prisoner. Beta Israel was unsuccessful in this battle. Their enemies took all surviving Jews and forced them into slavery, baptism, and denied them the right to own land. Their enemies also burned any and every form of Beta Israel literature in an attempt to completely erase their existence from Ethiopia. Ethiopian Jews would not be heard from again until 1769 when a Scottish explorer, James Bruce, came upon them near the Nile River. Bruce estimated there were about 100,000 of them at the time. In 1947, Ethiopia did not take part of the United Nations Partition Plan. In 1955, the non-governmental Jewish Agency of Israel began building schools and a teachers seminary for the Beta Israel in Ethiopia. Then in 1956, Ethiopia and Israel established a consular relationship and in 1961, the two establish full diplomatic ties. The situation was positive between the two nations until 1973 when Ethiopia along with several other African nations violated the diplomatic relations with Israel under the threat of an Arab oil embargo. A short time later, Ethiopias new Emperor, Mariam, began a Marxist-Leninist dictatorship and over the next several weeks, 2,500 Ethiopian Jews were killed and 7,000 were left homeless. Mariams reign was a huge threat to Beta Israel and anti-Semitism was spreading throughout the land. In 1977, Israels Prime Minister, with the permission Mariam, began to send for Ethiopian Jews to come to Israel. This was the beginning of the emigrations of Ethiopians Jews to Israel. Between 1977 and 1984, more than 8,000 Ethiopian Jews moved to Israel. In the early 1980s, the practice of Judaism and teaching Hebrew became forbidden in Ethiopia. On November 18th, 1984, Operation Moses began and over the next six weeks, nearly 8,000 more Ethiopian Jews were brought over to Israel. In 1985, President Bush and CIA began Operation Joshua, which brought another 800 Ethiopian Jews to Israel, this time from Sudan. Even though these operations brought Beta Israel to Israel, there were still conflicts. One of the biggest problems was separation. Many families were being separated and left behind. The move to Israel was bittersweet for several families who were afraid of never seeing their loved ones again, and many committed suicide as a result of separation anxiety. Many children were in danger of growing up without their parents. However, in 1990, came Operation Solomon. Operation Solomon, also called The Fulfillment of a Dream, began after an agreement was reached between Ethiopia and Israel. Operation Solomon sought to not only bring more of Beta Israel to Israel but to reunite families. Operation Solomon, named after King Solomon from biblical times, brought more Ethiopian Jews than Operation Moses and Operation Joshua, and in less time. Today, there are approximately 36,000 Ethiopian Jews residing in Israel and efforts are currently underway to bring over the remaining 2,100 Jews that wish to move to Israel. Wheatgrass: What Is There We Can Tell You?

Tuesday, February 26th, 2008

By Kerris Samson It has now become widely acknowledged that wheatgrass is one of natures own super foods. Certainly when it is grown in organic soil you will find that wheatgrass retains 82 out of the 92 minerals that are in the soil and they say that 1oz of wheatgrass juice has the same amount on nutrients contained with in it that you would find in 2.5lbs of green vegetables. Hopefully the information provided below will go some way to explaining why so many people swear by wheatgrass. Normally wheatgrass is grown from Red Wheatberry which is a special strain of this plant and contains very high concentrations of chlorophyll, amino acids, enzymes, minerals and vitamins which are vital to keeping your body healthy. The best way to obtain the maximum nutritional value from this plant is by extracting the juice. Certainly unjuiced wheatgrass is indigestible because the high levels of cellulose contained with in it and also because it is so fibrous. So by making the juice you are able to easily digest the high levels of nutrients contained within. You will find that many health food shops now sell wheatgrass, but if you really want to know where yours has come from you could grow it at home. There are many wheatgrass growing kits available and it can be grown in doors, so you dont even need to own a garden, all you need is a window sill that receives plenty of sunlight each day. Another benefit of growing your own wheatgrass is that it is fresher, unlike when you buy it in a shop it will have been damaged during transportation from where it was grown and then it will have been sat of the shelves in the shop for extended periods of time. So by growing your own wheatgrass you will find that it has retained even more of its nutrient content when it reaches your juicer. When you are cutting your wheatgrass make sure that it is approximately 7 to 8 inches in length as than is when it has reached its nutritional peak. Many people say that when first tasting wheatgrass juice they found it a little strange and many now prefer to make a drink using wheatgrass juice with other fruit or vegetables. Certainly in the beginning you may find because of the juices strong taste and high nutrient content that you can only drink around an ounce a day (either with or without other juices), but gradually you will find that you can increase your intake up to about 4oz of this juice a day. You will need about one handful of wheatgrass to make approximately 1oz of wheatgrass juice. Another added benefit of wheatgrass is that it is gluten free (even though it contains the word wheat in its name) it is in fact a grass not a wheat plant and is certainly suitable for anyone who has a intolerance to gluten. Kerris Samson who now lives in Spain and has become a work from home mum. Since moving to Spain she has taken a keen interest in healthy living and leading a healthy life style which has led to her setting up a number of sites relating to these subjects. How to Pick the Right Cell Phone forYou

Monday, February 25th, 2008

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jon_Wilder]Jon Wilder In the world today, if you don’t have a cell phone you’re out of touch. How do you pick the right phone, the right plan or the right company? There are many factors to that should be taken into consideration. If you have a large family, one of the many family plans could be the ticket. Some family plans share a pool of minutes. This can be a good or bad thing depending on how good your family is at sharing. If you have teenagers who tend to talk quite a bit on the cell phones (and most do these days), this may not be the best way to go although buying a separate plan for each teen could be very expensive. One idea is the “pay-as-you go” plan. These plans use minutes from a pre-paid bank of a set duration. At least this way you have control over how much you spend each month. Another type of family plan lets family memberspay for their own calling, but if family members sign up, everybody gets a better price then if they had signed up individually. Some plans also give you a break on the price of the cell phones themselves. Be sure to check out these types of plans carefully. If you are just shopping for yourself; carefully evaluate what you think your cell phones usage will be. If it’s just for emergencies or occasional use the afore mentioned pay-as-you go plans may be sufficient. You could also buy the cheapest plan available. Some are as low as $20 a month. Most people however, use their cellphones a lot and need many minutes. If this is the case, pay-as-you-go plans can get very expensive and it makes more sense to buy a plan that gives you several hundred minutes worth of time each month. Another thing to consider is the options. Does the plan come with roaming, long-distance, text-messaging, etc. included? Are these extras important to you? If they are then be sure to total up the costs of each plan. Some include extras in the plan cost, some don’t. Don’t sign up for a plan only to find out that you have to pay additional costs for the features you want that another plan included free or for the same price. Lastly, do the cell phones available for the plan come with the features you want or need. Cameras, games, two-way radio functions are just some of the many new functions being added to today’s phones. Low-Fat High-Carb Diet

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

By Chris Chenoweth What is a low-fat high-carb diet? It is a healthy eating plan that is low in fat and rich in complex carbohydrates (the GOOD carbs). WHY LOW-FAT? *Fat is bad for your heart and other serious diseases, like cancer. *Fat contains more than twice the calories of other foods. *Fat is 7 times more easily converted to body fat than carbohydrates. *Fat helps to destroy your taste for healthy food. Yes, we all need some fat (no more than about 25-30 percent of calories) but NONE of us need the amount or type we commonly eat. WHY RICH IN COMPLEX-CARBOHYDRATES? *Complex carbohydrates are less fattening, very healthy and less easily converted to body fat. *Complex carbohydrates are a great source of energy. *Our brain thrives on complex carbohydrates. BASIC TYPES OF CARBOHYDRATES: 1. Simple Carbohydrates - also called sugars (These should be eaten only in small quantities.)These are made up of simple molecules that are quickly and easily digested into the bloodstream. The sudden surge of energy they produce can be very upsetting for our system. Foods high in simple carbohydrates:Table-sugar, syrups, preserves, jellies and jams, ordinary sodas, soft drinks, sweets, candies, and cakes. Food ingredients high in simple carbohydrates:Dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose, maltose, sucrose, fruit juice concentrate, molasses, glucose syrup, honey. 2. Complex carbohydrates - These are made up of complex molecules, so it takes longer for our body to absorb and digest them. Result? We stay full for longer and our system is not upset. Foods high in complex carbohydrates:All whole grain foods including whole wheat bread, whole-wheat pasta, brown rice, oats, and most vegetables and fruits. Raw vegetables and fruits have the highest fiber content. 3. Very complex carbohydrates - also known as fiber (beans & legumes)This type of carbohydrate is SO complex that we cannot digest it at all. Nevertheless, it provides bulk that keeps us feeling full and it has significant health benefits. It helps lower cholesterol, reduces the risk of diabetes and helps combat certain cancers. Complex carbohydrates are essential ingredients in any healthy weight loss diet. This is why low-carb diets are so UNHEALTHY. DIETARY GUIDELINES: *Eat less fat - especially animal fat. Switch to lower fat options like: low fat dairy food, low-fat cheese, and fat-free dressings. Switch to fish, turkey and chicken instead of beef, lamb, and pork. Use less fat when cooking and add less fat (mayo, butter) to your plate. *Eat more complex carbohydrates.Sweet potatoes, whole grain or whole wheat bread, oats, whole grain cereals, brown rice, whole grain pasta. Check food labels. Make sure the ingredients list whole grains or whole wheat. *Eat less sugar and sugary foods.Table sugar, soft drinks, cookies, candy.Switch to lower-sugar options; drink lots of water and fruit juices rather than sodas. *Eat more fruits, vegetables and lots of salad.Make these foods a major part of your diet. *Eat more fiber.Eat more beans and legumes for extra fiber. WHY THIS DIET IS GOOD: *It is easy to follow. *It is very filling. *It is very healthy. *It is good for slow, steady weight loss. *It is used by successful dieters. In summary, junk the fad diets. Look for a good lower-fat well-balanced eating plan. Chris Chenoweth, author of the DO-IT-YOURSELF HOME, HEALTH & MONEY GUIDE, writes articles pertaining to diet, exercise, health, and business. Adult Education: How Adult College Education Helps

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

By Carl Mueller Adult education is a topic of interest to any adult who wonders if their current educational level is holding them back professionally. Certainly education is just one criteria that hiring companies often use to compare job candidates. As a recruiter, I can think of many cases where hiring managers and in some cases entire companies were stringent in terms of the educational requirements they were looking for in their “ideal” candidate. In some cases, I’ve seen hiring managers and companies who will not hire people who don’t meet minimum educational requirements. I’m not talking about cases where a professional certification is required either. Certainly, if a company requires a professional engineer or certified accountant, then this is usually a fairly well-understood requirement. If you don’t have the certification, you won’t get the job. I’m specifically talking about cases where a job is only available to candidates who (for example) hold a university or college degree. Not a diploma either. A university or college degree. In some cases, it doesn’t even matter what degree the person holds, it could be any degree. I’ve lost count of the number of times where a hiring manager has told me that they won’t look at candidates who dont hold a college degree. Chances are you won’t see a job description that says “don’t bother applying if you don’t have a college degree” but believe me, there are plenty of jobs you might be applying for that basically have that proviso even if it’s not explicitly stated. If you wonder if your educational level is holding you back, visit http://www.find-your-dream-career.com/adult-college.html for some suggestions and options. Consumer Protection in the Form of a Used Car Lemon Law

Monday, February 18th, 2008

By Earl Powers Lemon law was created to protect consumers from faulty and defective automobiles. Used car lemon law refers to legal support to consumers from buying used cars that turn out to be lemons. According the used car lemon law, the dealer needs to provide a written warranty. The written warranty as per used car lemon law ensures that the dealer shall repair, free of charge, any defects in covered parts or, at the dealer’s option, provide reimbursement for the reasonable costs of such repairs. If the dealer is unable to repair the car after a reasonable number of attempts, then according to the used car lemon law consumer is entitled to a full refund of the purchase price. Several norms govern the enactment of the used car lemon law. Different states have different used car lemon law. Some states in United States do not enforce used car lemon law. Various norms for used car lemon law are that the vehicle should have been purchased, leased or transferred after eighteen thousand miles of operation or two years from the date of original delivery, whichever occurs earlier. The vehicle under used car lemon law should also have been leased from the same state where the law is enforced. The purchase price of the vehicle under used car lemon law should have been purchased or leased at least at a price of $1500. The vehicle should be primarily for personal use and should have been driven 100,000 miles or less at the time of purchase or lease. According the used car lemon law it should be primarily for personal use or for the use of family or household purpose. Used car lemon law is not applicable to cars purchased from individuals or independent sellers. Under the used car lemon law, a dealer is any person or business which sells or leases a used car after selling or leasing three or more used cars in the previous twelve month period. Banks or other financial institutions, except in the case of a lease, are not included. Similarly, a car purchased from a retail auto auction is also covered. In such a case the auction company should be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles. During any sales by an auction company or the dealer, the seller must provide the lemon law warranty at the time or before the sale. In cases where a dealer fails to give you the written lemon law warranty, the dealer is nevertheless considered to have given the warranty and you are entitled to all the protections under the law. The used car lemon law sets only the minimum obligation for the dealers. However, a dealer may choose to provide additional warranty or may limit the coverage of the vehicle under warranty. The exclusion may include service or repair asked for due to consumer negligence, vandalism negligence, collision, abuse or theft, etc. Exclusion can also be for motor tune-up or repairs asked if the odometer has been tampered. There can be other several exclusions depending upon the dealers warranty provided. Different states have different contact points or toll free numbers where the consumer can obtain free information about used car lemon law. One needs to check out the contact numbers for a particular state where the used car lemon law needs to be enforced. How to Get Rid of Stomach Fat

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

By Kathy Ferneau How to get rid of stomach fat can be a life-saving question! Carrying unwanted pounds around the mid section ranks as the most dangerous place for excess fat. People with this tendency incur greater rates of cancer and heart disease than do people carrying extra weight elsewhere on their body. Where the body stores unnecessary weight is a genetic predisposition, along with eye color and height. The important thing is getting rid of that fat and starting now! So is stomach fat any harder to get rid of than fat from another part of your body? Should you do stomach crunches or situps to work specifically on abdominal area fat? Exercise is great, but you really can’t lose weight from one particular spot on your body. It’s going to come off overall, like peeling off one thin layer at a time. How about what you eat? The standard guidelines for cutting portion sizes, and eating more fruits and vegetables apply, of course. But once again, your dietary intake influences your whole body, not just the abdomen. One important exception is carbonated beverages, including sodas. These tend to bloat your stomach and make it look even bigger than it already is. So avoid Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and anything else with carbonation in it. So you’re dieting and exercising. What’s left? How about your brain? The major influence of the body. Training your brain to eat healthy is really how to get rid of stomach fat. Sound crazy? Not at all. Your mind controls every action your body makes. That includes opening your mouth and inserting food. The easiest way to train your mind is through weight loss hypnosis. If you aren’t familiar with hypnosis, it may sound like so much mumbo jumbo. Or like taking an extremely hard calculus test with lots of new concepts to learn. But it’s simpler than you think. Your mind is in charge of your metabolism–change your mind, change your metabolism. It’s really as easy as that. Most weight loss hypnosis CDs are created so all you have to do is listen to the program at night as you go to sleep. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
